Before your Linguaskill exam day

  • Plan your journey: Check your travel time to the Linguaskill venue, especially if your exam is at a weekend or on a holiday.

Things to bring to the Linguaskill exam

  • Bring the essentials: Don’t forget your email with login details and the photo ID you used for your Linguaskill exam registration. A passport or government-issued ID is ideal. Let us know if your ID changes before the test date.
  • Ensure validity: Your ID must be valid, original, and unexpired. Without it, you might not be able to take the Linguaskill test or receive your results.
  • Important for your exam results: For the new Cambridge Linguaskill test, your ID number will appear on the certificate and the Results Verification Service website.
  • Also don´t forget: Bring along a printed copy of your Entry Statement and signed Consent Form, if required.
  • Electronic items: Laptops, tablets/ipads, e-readers, cameras are not permitted into the exam room.

During the Linguaskill exam

  • Allowed on your desk during the Linguaskill exam: Have only your login email, registration ID, clear water bottle, tissues/medicine, and rough paper with pens/pencils.
  • Instructions: The invigilator/supervisor will provide guidance for starting and running the Linguaskill tests. Listen carefully.
  • Need help? Raise your hand for assistance. Please note that you will not be provided with any explanations of the test questions.
  • Technical issues: Immediately report if headphones/microphone aren't working, the wrong test appears or the test is incomplete.
  • Maintain integrity: Do not talk to others or try to see what they are writing.
  • Photo identification requirement: You will take a photo of your ID and yourself via webcam before each component. AI uses photos to track your presence during the exam.
  • Devices: Mobile phones and smartwatches must be off and placed in a dead-zone bag next to your desk. They cannot be accessed during the exam or breaks.
  • Not allowed: Do not bring bags, jackets, food, or drinks. Water is allowed in a plastic or metal bottle (no glass, no English text).
  • Time management: A clock will be available in the exam room to help with timing.

After the Linguaskill exam

  • Check completion: After finishing, ensure your test shows “Completed” on the Home page. If not, check the Active tab and re-open the test.
  • Stay seated: Remain in your seat until the supervisor permits you to leave.
  • Quick results: Access your results in 5 working days. You will receive online access to your results. The login information will be provided to you on the day of the exam.
  • Certificate: You will obtain a digital certificate that you can share via Cambridge online system.
